Our Wedding

I married Paul Anderson on 15 July 2006. Our civil ceremony and reception were both held at Osterley Park House in Middlesex. It was a perfect day - the sun shone all day long, and we all had so much fun. Official photos can be found on our photographer's website: Elaine Mayson Photography.

Mesozoic Garden

Suffering from a bit of post-nuptial depression, I was looking for a new hobby/obsession. My mother suggested I take up container gardening. This was ideal, as we're fortunate enough to have a back garden with a patio of sorts, but as we're renting I can't plant anything in the ground. I added my own twist to this, and decided to try to grow a Mesozoic garden, with plants that would have been around in the time of the dinosaurs.

To keep up with the ever-growing list of plants, why not subscribe to my blog, The Ethical Palaeontologist, where I write regularly about my "leaf babies".  My current plant list is below:

Abies nordmanniana
Adiantum fragrans
Araucaria araucana
Araucaria heterophylla
Asplenium scolopendrium
Camellia x williamsi
Cupressus macrocarpa
Cycas revoluta
Cyrtomium fortunei
Dicksonia antarctica
Dryopteris erythrosora
Hamamelis x intermedia
Juniperus squamata
Magnolia x soulangeana
Matteuccia struthiopteris
Metasequoia glyptrostroboides
Myrtus communis tarantina
Nephrolepis exaltata
Phoenix canariensis
Pinus mugo
Polypodium vulgare
Polystichium tsussimense
Trachycarpus fortunei
Washingtonia robusta
Wollemia nobilis

When work and the PhD allow, I like to read, listen to podcasts and go to the cinema. Occasionally I heave my lardy arse out of the couch and run a few times round the block.
